Who is this course for?
The B2 (FCE) First and Cambridge C1 (CAE) Advanced are qualifications accredited by Cambridge Assessment (University of Cambridge). The test is recognised globally and proves that students have a high enough level of English to live in an English-speaking country and study university courses thought in English. Additionally, this qualification does not expire – once you have the qualification then you have it for life!
Aims of the course
Students will:
– Learn the exam strategies and techniques that you will need to do to pass the exam.
– Build their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar structures.
– Improve their speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills.
– Develop their writing skills so they have the techniques to answer exam tasks logically and effectively.
MC Academy will:
– Monitor students progress carefully to help meet their target.
– Run a free mock exam halfway through the course to check student progress and give students an insight iunto what the exam day will be like.
– Help students enrol in the exam.

Why choose MC Academy?
MC Academy is located in the very heart of Manchester, close to the city’s major transport links, making travel to the school easy via bus, train, or tram. Not only this, MC Academy is renowned for its high standard of teaching, providing students with an excellent quality of education.
For how many weeks will I need to take the course?
This depends on the number of hours and weeks that you are going to study at MC Academy. We recommend a minimum of 12 weeks to cover the entirety of the course. This is to ensure that all parts of the exam are covered and sufficiently practiced as well as all of the relevant language aspects.
How can I enrol on the course?
Please enquire online, via email at [email protected], or come into the school, which is located in the centre of Manchester, Piccadilly Gardens. We will then assess your language level with a placement test and speaking test, which will determine whether you should take the FCE (B2) course or the CAE (C1) course.
When can I join the course?
The course has open enrolment, meaning that you can start on any Monday. Please note, however, that you should follow the recommended number of weeks to complete the course. It is also important to note that, should you miss some content that was studied in a previous week, this content will not be taught again until the cycle repeats.
Will the certificate help my career?
Yes, the vast majority of universities and employers in the UK, Europe, and the USA acknowledge and accept a Cambridge certificate, however, please always check with your chosen university first to see which equivalent IELTS score or other exam scores you require.
What level do I need to join the course?
FCE – Already B1 Intermediate or B2 Upper-Intermediate
CAE – Already B2 Upper-Intermediate or C1 Advanced
If you are unsure of your current level, we will be happy to advise you based on our placement and speaking tests.
How will I know that I am ready to take the exam?
You will have regular test practice, so your teacher will be able to advise you on the areas in which you need to improve. We like to say that ‘Practice makes Perfect’, so once you have completed the course and have gone through the recommended syllabus, we’re sure you feel ready to pass the exam with confidence.
