There has never been so much information readily available at the touch of a button. Here’s our compilation of some of the best websites and apps to compliment ESL classes.

Videos to help improve all areas of English learning, as well as useful advice for developing writing skills.

BBC 6 minute English (L, V)

A great website to practice listening skills and understanding. Convenient 6 minute videos on all kinds of topics, creating interesting and topical discussions.

Soundsenglish.com (L, G)

Providing listening exercises for elementary to advanced students. There are also interactive activities to complete while listening. 

British Council (L, G, V, R)

You can find activities to practice all skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary exercises. It’s also easy to find a specific grammar point you want to review. Covering all aspects of English for beginners through to IELTS preparation, this is a great place to understand and test your grammar skills! 

Duolingo (app) (V, G, R)

Learners can build their vocabulary bank along with grammar tips and authentic reading passages. Easy to dip in and out of whenever you’re on the move.  

BBC skillswise (W)

Information to improve your writing skills. Short videos provide helpful tips, from filling in an application form to writing a letter of complaint.
